Method One: You can create a fence by walking to the specific fence points with the collar in hand
- Select the My Map tab which is located at the bottom left corner of the Halo App.
- Then slide the Find & Manage Pets card up. From here you can see Find & Manage Fences.
- Select the circle which has the + sign that indicates “Add Fence”
- Next, select the circular collar icon located on the right side of the map.
- Click the collar that you will use to create the fence.
- Using the prompt which pops up in the Halo App, make sure you hold the correct collar.
- Then click the Done button in the upper right.
- From here, you should have a map view of the exact spot you are standing and your precise location is shown.
- By using a two-finger pinching motion, zoom in to the specific area that you would like to fence, for instance, the backyard.
Hint: Make sure that you are connected to the collar with the app via Bluetooth. While creating the fence, you will need to look at the app.
This will help you confirm that the collar is being shown at the precise location that you would want the fence post to be. Wherever the collar appears on the app, you can be sure that is where the fence posts will be located.
As such, make sure that the collar is at the same spot where you are standing. You can do this by holding the collar on the left side with the label. Holding it on the right side can disrupt the GPS signal as this is the part where the antenna is positioned.
- Move to the position where you would like your first fence post and then pause in the location for about 10 seconds. Afterward, press the Add (GPS) button at the bottom.
Hint: To create a very accurate fence, simply hold the collar on the left side. This is held out in front of you, facing forward, with the speaker in an upright position, like your dog was wearing it.
- Move to your next post spot and repeat the process. After doing this, you should see the fence as a blue line between your two posts in the app.
- Continue the previous step to add additional posts. While doing so, make sure you pause at each location for at least 10 seconds. With this, you can add a maximum of 20 posts to your fence.
- By clicking the Undo button, you can easily undo a post that you have placed at any time.
- However, If you have undone a post and want to redo it again, you can achieve this by simply clicking the Redo button.
- After placing all the fence posts, tap on the first post to complete the fence. You will see the fence complete and the fenced-in will appear shaded in blue.
- Then, select the Next link in the upper-right corner.
- For the final step, input your Fence Name to make it active
