This breed may herd any moving thing like animals and children or even give a painful bite, and they are likely not to do so with spiteful intent.

Reasons Border Collies May Appear Threatening
Naturally, border collies are not threatening dog breeds. But some major things will threaten the border collies, detailed below.
Terror-driven threat
As I stated earlier, there are several consequences of threats in dogs, but terror is the major among them all. Dogs feel terror and nervousness when in unknown situations like any other person.
Since dogs do not have the mental processes of understanding or the thinking ability of humans, they are more likely to be influenced, harmed, or affected by somebody or something during a time of terror.
When a dog is afraid, it will have protective displays to try to push away from the threat. These protective acts include growling, baring teeth, and crouching.
It is also essential to notice that this threat is not always pointed at people or other animals. For example, border Collies might get scared of non-living objects like vacuum cleaners or hairdryers.
They are also frightened of the veterinary doctor or act threatening when you prompt them to put them in their cage.
Surprisingly, a frightened dog will not try to hurt or kill if the situation can be avoided. Instead, it will try to frighten the threat by growling and barking. Dogs that are frightened will only scratch or bite when they feel insecure.
Dogs that act threatened when they feel frightened are usually not harmful. Instead, they are anxious dogs that require extra guidance from their owner.
Intra-Household Aggression
I gave you a tip about this above, but Border Collies are pack dogs and love to remain within their pack. As a result, the border collies may attack faces that are unrecognizable to them.
Most dogs have boundaries, which is the case for Border Collies. These border collies won’t just perceive the house as boundaries but also their owners as boundaries.

These breeds don’t deal kindly with other dogs or people entering their boundary, mainly if they are unknown to them.
Genetics plays a big part in how territorially aggressive a dog is, and as a result, look for a reputable breeder who tests her breeding dogs to ensure they’re free of genetic diseases.
Some Border Collies are more (violent) than others. Despite this, most Border Collies will be apprehensive of strangers entering their territory.
For some dogs, their boundaries include their building and compound. Although, some dogs are more threatening than others in protecting the borders of their territory.

They are intelligent to a degree to acknowledge that they do not feel right when they are sick, and as a result, they don’t feel right when they are sick, and they know something is wrong but can’t understand it. And this leads to very great discomfort in them.
One of the worse aggressions is in dogs when they fall ill. This aggression can’t be very unstable. Those dogs are liable to severe and sudden outbursts with a bit of caution. Sometimes the issues with their brains or thyroid lead to this sudden outburst.
