People may think that because they weren’t bred to hunt cats that they do not see these animals as prey, I can assure you my Jack Russell Terrier see’s my neighbor’s cat as some sort of prey.
He displays clear aggression toward my neighbor’s cat through attempts at chasing and vocal warnings, and so does the Scottish Terrier next door, it’s mainly a Terrier thing.
These dogs know hunting best, they live for the hunt, they thrive in the hunt, and the hunt involves small animals running away from them so as soon as this happens, your terrier will mostly show signs of aggression as they think they’re in the hunt.
Though the aggression of a Jack Russell Terrier towards small animals cannot be trained out of them, their possible aggression towards other dogs and people can certainly be helped.

I can tell you that this breed can be extremely jealous. They need your attention and may react if you don’t express care and attention to them. You should not get them if you don’t have time for this breed.
Jack Russells love family members and may attack strangers who want to act funny towards members. In addition, they love where they receive pampering and care. However, you must not allow them to have excess attention or they suffer withdrawal symptoms if don’t have time for them again.
